Reason For Change:
Require national President and Vice President candidates to have experience running a club as a regional President.
We believe that to be an effective national President or Vice President, you should have the experience of running a club on a regional level. That way, you understand the challenges facing a regional president. Currently, there is no requirement that a national President or Vice President have been a regional president. (Changes in Bold below)
ARTICLE V, SECTION 2. National President
The President shall be the Chief Executive Officer. The President shall have the powers and responsibilities of management usually pertaining to the office of president of a corporation, along with other duties that may be assigned by the National Board. National President candidates must have served as a President at a regional level.
ARTICLE V, SECTION 3. National Vice President
The Vice President, when the president is absent, shall perform all duties of the President, and when so acting, shall have all the powers and be subject to all the responsibilities of the President. The Vice President shall have such other powers and duties that may be assigned by the President or the National Board. National Vice President candidates must have served as President at a regional level.
