ANNOUNCEMENT OF VCA MEMBERS ONLY SPECIAL OFFER
You asked for them (indeed for years now) and after a great deal of discussions and  much hard work with our friends at SRT/DCX/Dodge, your National Officers are happy to report to our membership an announcement many of you have been anxiously awaiting:

THE VIPER MONRONEYS ARE FINALLY AVAILABLE!

Some may ask what is a "Monroney"?  Well you can read footnote #1  below for the details, but it suffices to say that it is an official manufacturer installed window sticker that is required by federal law for over 4 decades.  Although many of our owners have retained the original Monroney, many have also been lost/misplaced.  This is especially so when Vipers are resold.  Lastly, the DCX Viper Monroney also typically depicts the person/entity who placed the original order for that particular Viper.

Well, not only were we successful in getting DCX to help us replace many (but unfortunately not all) production year Monroneys, we also have been able to set up a special order process administered by the VCA and our management company, J.R. Thompson that will enable replacement of the original Monroney, but for a small additional cost, you can also order the Monroney with your name in the appropriate space on the window sticker This is especially attractive for those folks who do not have any Monroney for their Viper, as well as for those who may have the original Monroney but were not the party whose name is on the original order.

The  replacement Monroneys will be exact duplicates of the originally issued sticker, excepting of course the new name if so desired.  They will be printed on original Monroney security paper and in the same size and color as the original. NO OTHER ADDITONS/CHANGES ARE ALLOWED.  Due to the need to specially protect the newly issued sticker, they will be hand packed and shipped in a special shipping tube, hence the added postage/handling cost.

Please note that due to DCX limitations we are only able to permit orders for Viper Monroneys going back approximately six (6) years from the date your reprint order is placed.  So if your car was built in May of 2001, DCX no longer has the records to produce a reprint.

Cost?  Well, this effort requires special handling/research by DCX; special printing equipment; special paper; special substitution of new name; special ordering process; and special handling/shipping.  Whew!  A lot of work is obviously required, but we still believe the costs to order, research, acquire and ship these are quite reasonable:

1. Replacement of Viper Monroney..........................$55.
    Shipping/Handling...................................................$10.
     Total.........................................................................$65.

2. Replacement of Viper Monroney with Name Change........$65.
     Shipping/Handling.................................................................$10.
     Total........................................................................................$75.

ORDERING PROCESS
We will be posting a short order form on this web site for use in ordering Monroneys.  Due to our new web site capabilities we will now be able to utilize PayPal in placing orders, as well as the ability to accept faxed applications at our Viper HQ (fax # 248 553 2138).  Regardless of how you place your order, either a completed PayPal request or a completed fax with credit card information will be required before an order can be processed.  The following special rules will be followed in the ordering process:

DELIVERY TIME NOTICE
Due to the administrative/logistical difficulty in obtaining historical information of this type, special ordering/delivery protocols must be applied.  First, while each order will be technically a custom order pertaining to a single VIN # and may or may not have a custom name added, we can only process these orders in groups.  As such, after your order is placed, it will await the arrival of other orders until we reach a predetermined number (expected to be between 10-25).  The group of orders will then be submitted for special research/handling and printing on official Monroney paper and when completed will be returned to Viper HQ for shipping handling to members.  As such, there will be delays in receipt of your order, but we hope to keep it down to a few weeks if possible.  Again due to DCX limits we EXPRESSLY RESERVE THE RIGHT TO DELAY PROCESSING AND DELIVERY UNTIL THE FOREGOING PROCESS RECEIVES THE MININUM NUMBER TO ENABLE PROCESSING BY DCX.

The National Officers would like to express our appreciation to SRT and DCX for assisting the VCA in this very unique offering.  While we regret we cannot reproduce the earlier Monroneys, be assured we have procured what we can on your behalf.  Be sure to look for the order form and PayPal link to be posted in the VCA Member Forum very shortly.  Thank you for your patience and for being valued members of the Viper Club of America.

Footnote #1

What is a  Monroney sticker?

In the United States, all new automobiles are required to include an official form listing certain information about the car; this window sticker is commonly called a Monroney sticker in the industry (or simply a window sticker), named after Almer Stillwell "Mike" Monroney, the Oklahoma senator who sponsored the Automobile Information Disclosure Act of 1958.

The sticker is required to be affixed to the side window or windshield of every new car sold in the United States. A fine of US$1,000 per vehicle is applied if the sticker is missing. The sticker is not required, and the act does not apply, for vehicles with a gross vehicle weight rating (GVWR) of more than 8500 pounds (3856 kg).

The sticker must include the following information:

  • The manufacturer's suggested retail price (MSRP)
  • Engine and transmission specifications
  • Standard equipment and warranty details
  • Optional equipment and pricing
  • City and highway fuel economy ratings, as determined by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA)
